Hannukah Begins

Blessed are you, Lord our God, who has given us holidays, customs and times of joy, to increase our knowledge of you and build us up in our faith. Blessed are you, Lord our God, who performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this season.

What more can we ask, for ourselves, for each other? The first line of this prayer is so universal - that our ritual, celebration, custom and festivity enlarges our joy, understanding, and spirit. The inward-dwelling of this winter season encourages me to add my own little prayer...

May we carry this light into our daily lives, that light may increase.

  1. Hi Sarah,
We're finally back online after 3 months! So lovely to see your family's happy faces. I've started a blog again, here threejoyfulpixies.blogspot.com as I found that I miss recording our adventures.
Look forward to keeping up to date with your blog again :)

    Love and light

  2. Lovely. I like to think of this time as spiralling in towards the light, and carrying it out with us. Your prayer is much more succinct. Blessings to you all. xx
