Sea Air

I often get homesick for the sea. I have never lived on the coast, but still. Something about the salt air and the breezes and the miles and miles of horizon.

Jenna got a try of Ashleigh's spinning wheel, though I didn't because every time the children saw it after this they wanted to stand on the peddle!

The beaches called to us.

In Ashleigh's tiny flat the children were kept reasonably occupied with making art (to stop them stomping around on the ceiling of the people living below)!

And they slept cuddled up in a little nest in the corner! :)

This beach was more touristy, but the children adored the flat expanse of sea for swimming in and the soft powdery sand for playing with. (My camera didn't like the sand so much, and has been on the blink ever since so I have fewer pictures!)

I waded right in til my dress was bundled up round my waist, and wished I'd had any spare clothes with me to actually swim! It was cold, but magical and so so beautiful.

The National Trust provided yet more beautiful places to visit.

And on our last day we did some fossil hunting and I found two tiny incomplete fossils. :) On the way home we met with some Green Parent friends.

Our entire week was truly perfect. Oh so perfect. I feel refreshed and inspired.

  2. Lovely pictures x

I know what you mean about the sea, I was always drawn to it like it was home - hence moving to the coast from the midlands - I hope to be closer to it one day, further down the coast.

  5. And I'm still finding sand... and a yes/no book, under the table, now on top of table ;) Fun times, and I'm so grateful for the company and the lifts to the seaside. My little flat does well and truely feel empty in comparison!

  6. You were lucky with the weather... Ashleigh's flat will be groaning when Minnow puts in an appearance!!

  7. Lol cosleeping beans don't take up much space, and maybe Ashleigh will have more room by the time Minnow is mobile (eh Ash?)! ;) That little flat was already more than groaning - I have great respect for the people living below for not pounding on the ceiling on Sunday morning!

  8. Lol, yes, I have no idea where I'll be come next Summer, but you would of course, always be welcome, somehow! I also have new respect for downstairs, as the last couple of days my upstairs have been very bangy and playing annoyingly loud music. And I think I will start looking for a two bed place next time, so I can have a study/crafty/guest room.
