Autumn's End

The leaves are all damp now, no more crunchy crisp gold from the trees. The mud, though, is really rather good for stomping in (especially now I have shoes without holes!) and I'm always surprised by just how much green there still is. Long may the colours last! Last week, we had a good wander around Darley Park in the wet and the cold. And it was good.I'm not regretting one of these passing days right now, just loving the inexorable turn towards the dark cold bare icy winter and the joy of celebrating birth and life and love once more. It is going very very quickly but somehow I don't feel quite so resistant this year.

  1. I too miss the lack of crispiness in the leaves, though the frost still has its own form of beauty - the symmetry of the ice crystals makes them as lovely as the coloured leaves, in their own way.
That picture of Rowan in the swing is just too cute! Makes me broody lol! xx

  2. She was so happy and excited out there in the cold.

She is signing hello in the first picture. She does it every time someone comes into the room, and any time she is really excited, and if she doesn't get you to sign back first try she goes into wild mad flap with shrieking! Too cute. :)

Lol at you being broody. Patience my dear. ;)

  3. Speaking of which, can you recommend any baby signing books please? ALso, please can you tell me how to change the time settings on my blog to UK time, because it's confusing at the moment. I actually feel like it might be real now lol!

  4. We have only one sign book, it's a really basic but nice one http://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Signs-Baby-Signing-BSL/dp/1904550045/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1259356867&sr=1-1 but I have done bits of BSL for years which helps. I know plenty of folks who've just invented bits of useful sign themselves when their babies has started using gestures more around six months. :)
