Etsy-ing

DSC07322
I have a new Etsy shop for Arwen Makes.  It's a bit scary, putting my work out in the big wide world like this.  A bit vulnerable.  I keep having to tear myself away from foolish watching of shop statistics.

Years of saying, "I really could do this - I want to do this," and then not doing it.  And now I've just gone ahead, with the few and imperfect offerings I have to hand, and in spite of the quaking, I'm glad I did it.  After all, it would be ridiculous to still be saying, in a few years, why did I not believe in myself?

And now I wait, anxiously, to see if perhaps I can really truly make something of it...  Or at least not end up costing us money we don't have.  :S

  1. Ooh wishing you the best for your etsy venture, you can do it!

I find it seasonal for me getting things made for etsy, but there is at least no pressure with it, hoping to one day expand more when time allows.

Hope it brings in some extra for you all, if only to buy more yarn!

    good luck xxx

    1. Thanks! :) If it makes yarn money and no more, I will still be ecstatic. :)

  4. Just checking in after a break from blogging. The items in the shop look fantastic. I am especially admiring the playsilks. Fingers crossed I'll make some money soon as I would certainly like a couple of those, my kidlet loves them for all sorts of things.

I am eagerly awaiting some silks for an idea I have... Exciting times! And I made my first sales yesterday, so I am feeling really good about the shop now.

    1. I don't know! I have had three commissions and two sales, not all from people that I know, and the only thing I'm sure of is that when I changed the pictures for brighter outdoor shots I got more sales... I get a lot more views when I promote myself, but I somehow find that very hard (and embarrassing)!
