A Yes Day

Yes, let's make cupcakes.

Of course we can go to the park. And yes, let's get luridly blue ice lollies.

Sure, I'll look after your shoes!

And why not paddle in the brook?
IMG_4316

Oh, yes, and stomp in the mud (after all, your feet will be washed by running back here again)!
IMG_4317

I suppose we do have time to follow the stream and find out where it goes.

Err... yeah... you *can* try an unripe haw but I don't think you'll like it...

Yes, you can write in my precious dream journal. (Apparently this says, "Mummy, Taya, Happy!")

(And sometimes following the joy really does just renew everything.)

    1. I am right with you in those long days too, some are almost impossible to bear graciously - but some are magical, too. Hold on for the magical moments, mama. xxx

  2. Oh I am having a 'no' week, mostly down to a 5 year old boy who likes to run and jump everywhere, and a bouncy puppy who ........... well you can guess. Your 'yes' day sounds like bliss. Help me pray for a 'yes' day soon. V xxx

    1. Father God, lift up my sister Valerie and encourage her that all of her work and effort and kindness is going somewhere. Help her in her efforts to be transformed into your likeness, and lift her when she stumbles, because the road is so so long during some seasons of our lives. Thank you for hearing the cries of our spirits. Amen

(gentle hugs, "yes" days are so much easier when there are more resources - and adult hands - to go around!)

  3. I think I must have too many 'no days' at the moment. "I can't believe you're letting me do this!" was R's response when we got out the needle felting stuff the other day.
One of the greatest parenting truths though, that when we can find it within ourselves to say yes and not worry about the consequences, everything just flows better.
