Birthdaying with Rowan

A very early morning!

Rowan's birthday was fairly quiet this year, just peaceful and lovely.  We took the long walk up the hill to Sainsbury's cafe, because that was all Rowan wanted to do.

She got her requested chocolate cake with strawberries, and birthday tea was chicken pancakes followed by apple pie (she is an odd little duckling, but she was delighted to find that the requested tea duly appeared)!

Apple pie carefully and lovingly made by Jenna.  It was the perfect apple pie in every way.

Mostly, Rowan spent the day having baths and playing Octonauts (mostly both at once).  :)

And now she's four.  I know it's a clique, but it only feels like yesterday that I birthed her...

    1. I had to keep asking her if she was sure - didn't she want to go out somewhere fancy, didn't she want a big party tea? Nope. Sainsbury's cafe, and chicken pancakes for tea. :)

    1. I so love the little birthday traditions. I know I would be in big trouble with the older ones if I ever missed something out! Jenna tells me she will keep wearing her birthday crown "forever" and will still want me to make her a special breakfast table when she's a teenager. <3

    1. Any chance to be in the kitchen making something special, and Jenna is there! Just like her mama, she's good at using food to say "I love you"...

    1. I'm not sure I can wrap my head around Rowan being four still, not just yet, she is still such a toddler. I remember how big I thought Jenna was at four!
