Blustery Spring Day

We decided to save money today, and walk the (little legs) hour into town to story time. Morgan nearly made it too, and only needed carrying the last few minutes. She walked the whole way home though. :)

After stories we ate pastries on the River Gardens and played hide and seek. Then on the way home we collected moss and weeds for our Easter Garden, and arranged it nicely. We have enough spare to send some moss home with Emma too, who came back to ours for a while. There is a lot of living wrapped up in a few words, today. Sometimes I find that when I come to write, the pictures just say it so much better.

Mothering Sunday

I don't "do" Mother's Day, at least I don't plan to. Jenna, however, was having none of it. She was insistent. And so, I celebrated. I was surprised by breakfast in bed, daddy-made croissants and cups of hot tea.Morgan came and snuggled in for milk, which caused a bit of a tussle. The baby climbed over me and actually tried to take the breast out of her sister's mouth! She was relieved to soon find that she could always have the other side, and peace was restored.Presents and cards lovingly child-made without my knowledge.
And flowers. We had lunch at Chris and Em's house after Church, and I cooked. Then we did evening Church with my mum and she got her present (the rainbow scarf in the previous post) and the children got a huge fuss made of them as they always do at the International Church!

Returning...

To the simple, and the good. Freeform crochet-along on Ravelry, rainbow baby booties, and a finished dress that Morgan adores.Waldorf-esque fairy kingdoms, snuggly Rowan milkies, that much-loved penguin, mess, and eczema that is finally vanishing to nothing thanks to hemp, calendula and lavender balm.An alternative use for my new cowl...Favorite stories from today. We got these books at the library last time, and have been reading them all week. "Wow, beautiful!" breathed Jenna, Re: Singing to the Sun, when the princess refused the prince who had passed the test to win her hand, and married the Jester instead! She likes a well-written story, this girl. And unexpected twists and turns. ;) Tweedle Dee Dee is an "over and over" favorite for both of the big ones. And leads to requests for egg-related crafts.Jenna has been doing a weather chart, and made symbols today to present the weather for us. Very cute. She asks to do so much that I procrastinate about, it's fun to just go with it and see where we end up.It has been a fairly Montessori activity kind of day today too, as I looked for things for Morgan to do that didn't involve taking things from Jenna's games.Which turned into fun chaos of various kinds. :)Ah these three. Always busy little people.Martin took just Rowan and Jenna to the Dad's group this afternoon, and left Morgan painting so that she could be picked up for a quiet coffee with my mum.I have Emma's cold (lol always sharing, aren't we?) and as a result migranes (thanks mum!) and am struggling to keep either at bay for long. I have also been visited by AF - yay for Rowan nursing so much this long as the others only gave me around six months time out, but RUBBISH timing. The children are starting to be a bit sniffly and baby bean just wants to cuddle up and sleep. Ah well, I have this to finish for my Mother-in-law, another cowl. I'm good with hibernating a bit more.
